1 Corinthians 15 (
Jesus’ resurrection is a model for ours.
Our new body will be physical in nature.
Our new body will be familiar and recognizable.
Our new body will be immortal.
Our new body will be perfect for us.
We will finally be comfortable in our own skin.
The beginning of this message did not record, so it picks up in progress. We started with Revelation 21:1-5 which says:
1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling placea of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people,b and God himself will be with them as their God.c4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. 5And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”
Thanks for listening!
Heaven right now is not the way it always will be.
The present Heaven is not visible to us… but some have seen glimpses of it.
Jesus is there now… and so are the believers who have died.
2 Corinthians 5:6, 8 “We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord… and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.”
The present Heaven engages in worship.
The present Heaven is concerned about what’s happening on earth.
