The Problem With Moralism (Romans 2:1-11)

Romans 2:1-11
Moralism is making personal judgements about someone’s righteousness based on our own rationale and thinking.
Romans 2:1
The moralist can always find a comparison that affirms he/she is good enough to warrant heaven.
Romans 2:2-5
2 Peter 3:9
Romans 2:6-11
Summary: The Problem with moralism is our standards aren’t God’s standards. We don’t judge impartially, and we’re all guilty of not measuring up – even to our own standards.

Question: How do we connect with others who seem to have a moralist mentality?

We have to lovingly help them see they don’t measure up to God’s standards.
We can start by sharing with them how we ourselves have come up short.
